Here in Ohio the weather had just started inching towards fall, getting chilly and all of that. Then today, boom, 80 degrees again. We really jumped the gun on the fall train, but that doesn’t mean its not close. So, while we take off our sweaters and put on our tank tops again, lets make a refreshing lemonade shall we?
Our recipe for Blueberry Lemonade is from scratch, no Country Time shortcuts here today folks. Although you can use the Country Time mix, if you’re running short on time.
Here’s what you’ll need:
(1 Gallon of Lemonade)
1 1/3 Cups of Lemon Juice (bonus points if it’s fresh squeezed)
1 3/4 cups of Sugar
1 pint of Blueberries
The first thing that you want to do is pick out a nice gallon sized pitcher to put your lemonade in. If you use one with a spout like we did, make sure the spout is turned off. We didn’t and it totally went everywhere at first. haha!
Once you have your container picked out, then add your juice, and your sugar to it. Mix it a little bit so the sugar isn’t quite as settled on the bottom. Then fill about 3/4 of the pitcher with water, leaving room for your blueberries. Mix together again so that your sugar doesn’t settle.
After you mix, take about half of your pint of blueberries and blend them up in the blender. Then add them to the lemonade. Mix the lemonade up again thoroughly. You can add some whole blueberries on the top of your pitcher for some added pizazz.
That’s all there is to it. Simply chill, serve, and enjoy! This is a great alternative to just plain lemonade, and its also great at a summer party, get together, or even over labor day coming up.
We’re definitely looking forward to drinking some on our days off.
What are some of your guys favorite drinks to serve at a get together. We’d love to hear all of your ideas!
