Burgers are pretty much a staple of the summer season, and we know we’ve had at least 1000 1 so far this season. We wanted to take our normal burgers up a notch, and decided to get some ground lamb and try some Greek Style Lamb Burgers! These have great flavor and taste, with a Greek flair! This is a great recipe to do on the grill, as well as on your stove.
To get started with this recipe you’ll need:
1 lb. Ground Lamb
1 Red Onion
1/3 cup Feta Cheese
2 Tbsp minced garlic
2 Tbsp. Greek seasoning (ours was a mix of salt, parsley, laurel, garlic, oregano, mint, & rosemary
Cucumber slices for topping
Greek Yogurt Dressing (or tzatziki dip) for on top
The first step is combine the seasoning, feta, 1/2 of the onion – chopped, garlic, and lamb in a bowl and mix together thoroughly to make your burgers. A quick tip for getting fairly even burgers. Just divide your meat in your bowl into sections, like we did in the photo above. Each section is about the perfect size for each burger.
Once you’ve made your patties, you can cook them. You can do this either on the grill or on the stove. Since it was raining when we made this, we decided to do ours in the skillet. We cooked these patties on medium, in olive oil, for about 5 minutes on each side. Make sure your meat temps to the proper temperature to avoid any illness etc. Then simply top with some red onion, cucumber, greek yogurt dip, and more feta if you wish.
There you have it. A Greek inspired burger ready for you to chomp down on. Opa!!
