Chocolate covered pretzels & nuts are a yearly Christmas tradition in my house. Every Christmas we make up a bunch, usually to give out to family members and friends as little presents. After all, just about everything is better covered in chocolate, including pretzels & nuts! Plus they’re ultra easy to make, and take no time at all!
To start you’ll need some pretzels, and white & chocolate almond bark. (Usually I use 1/2 brick of almond bark per bag of pretzels) Start by melting your almond bark. You can do this in a double boiler, or the microwave. It’s really up to you; just make sure to gradually heat it, as too much heat can burn your chocolate. Once your chocolate is melted, mix in your pretzels. Scoop out the pretzels and put n a baking sheet, or these little cutting mats like we did. Stick them in the freezer to dry quickly, then that’s it. You have some tasty treats that everyone will love. You can try doing salted caramel ones as well by drizzling caramel sauce over them and adding sea salt.
To make chocolate covered nut clusters you do the same thing as the pretzels, but add nuts instead of pretzels. I HIGHLY recommend using the honey roasted peanuts. They give the clusters a ton of extra flavor and make them doubly delicious. Once you have your nuts coated in chocolate, just use a teaspoon and spoon out little clusters. Stick them in the freezer to harden, and you’re done!
For a great gift, use some festive snack bags from the Christmas isle at your local store and give these to your friends. They make great gifts for coworkers, as well since they’re easily portable, and you can give out a ton. Plus, everyone loves some Christmas treats!
Have a great week everyone, and I hope your Christmas planning goes swimmingly!
