Joy Wreath DIY

Hi everyone!! I decided to change things up this year and make a Christmas wreath for the front door. I think it’s fun to change the wreath every year and why not make your own to have it be more custom?

Of course this one is super simple and easy to make. (I wouldn’t make it if it was hard, ha) Plus I already had a few of the things so I didn’t need to break the bank to buy supplies.

DIY: A Joyful Christmas Wreath

To make the wreathe you’ll need a grapevine wreath. I got mine from Hobby Lobby and they’re super cheap. Some snowflake ornaments, letters to spell out a work of your choice,I chose “Joy” but you can have it be any other word of your choice. I actually found the letters in the clearance section of Hobby Lobby but you can easily add glitter to the letters if you choose to. I also needed some smaller and medium sized gold and silver ball ornaments, and craft wire.  Oh and a hot glue gun.

I’ll be honest, when I first started to make the wreath I wasn’t quite sure whatI wanted to have it look like. So I just started to cut the wire to tie the balls and started to tie them in sections around the wreath. I just stuck with doing 2 of each color in sections of four, and having them all around.

I left enough room for the Joy and filled in the rest with snowflakes. I just hot glued the snowflakes in between the ball sections, and glued the letters down at the bottom. Also I will say when doing this be VERY careful when glueing everything down. I probably burned my hands 5 times. I still see the scars. Lol Oh and don’t worry about it coming apart in the wind, I glued and wired down that puppy so much it’ll withstand some strong winds. Lol

And that’s it! If you want to get more creative you can spray paint the wreath white or silver to make it look more “wintery” but I personally like the contrast with the brown color. You can also forgo the word thing and just have it be the first letter of your last name. I love to make my own wreath because I can make it exactly how I want it to look, and have it be the colors that go with the rest of my decorations outside, or with the colors of the house.  The possibilities are endless!

Well I hope you guys found this inspiring to go and make a wreath if you don’t already have one on your door yet.
