Southwest Turkey Chilli

Chilli is always a staple meal to make during these cold months. While winter is coming to a slow end we’re still making soups and chili in March. I always make this southwest turkey chili, it’s super easy to make and full of flavor!

Southwest Turkey Chilli

Here’s what you’ll need:

2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
1 pound of ground turkey
3 Tbs of chili powder
1 Tbs of ground cumin
2 Tbs of Worcestershire sauce
1 large onion
4 cups of beef broth
2 Tbs smoked paprika
1 can of tomato sauce
2 cans of diced tomatoes
3 Tbs of barbecue sauce
2 cups of frozen corn kernels
1 can of kidney beans
Salt to taste
Optional toppings:
shredded cheese
tortilla chips

Southwest Turkey Chilli Heat a pot over medium-high heat and add the EVOO and the ground turkey. Season the meat with the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire. Break up the meat with a spoon and brown it up for about 5 minutes.

While the turkey is browning up, chop up the onion, then add to the meat, and cook for another 10 minutes.Add the water to deglaze the pan, and pour the broth in. Then add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn, and barbecue sauce.

Now bring the chili to a bubble then let it simmer for 10 minutes, (or longer if you want). Add salt and pepper to taste.Serve up the chili topped with the cheese and tortilla chips. OR really go crazy and top it with sour cream, fresh cilantro, salsa, or some fancy crackers. (AKA Ritz, lol)
